I’m a data scientist at CEGA, UC Berkeley, using satellite imagery, climate data, and machine learning to measure how climate change affects people and the environment, especially where ground data is scarce.
Much of my work builds on MOSAIKS; I co-wrote its Training Manual. Recent work:
- Climate change and childhood malaria in Africa (Nature, 2026)
- Maize yields from satellite features (Remote Sensing, 2025)
- Where to collect ground data for ML maps (AAAI, 2026)
- Artisanal mining across Africa (NBER, with emLab)
Before my MEDS degree at UCSB (2022), I was a scientific diver with Channel Islands National Park’s Kelp Forest Monitoring Program. Off the keyboard, I’m diving, mountain biking, or camping.
